Do you have a preschooler that wants to jump, hop and wiggle the summer away? Join Kansas City Young Audiences Community School of the Arts in a class for young dancers ages 3 to 5 years old. Students will learn basic dance movement, improve their coordination and flexibility and will be encouraged to "dance to the beat of their own drummer" as they learn the foundations that will prepare them for a future in dance.

Celebrate Independence Day by lacing up your running or walking shoes and participating in a virtual freedom race with distances for any skill level (half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K options available). Complete your distance in the park, on the treadmill or anywhere in between and celebrate America's birthday while working up a sweat. All registered participants will receive a medal.

Dribble and shoot your way to better basketball skills this summer. Let's Go Sports offers basketball training for beginners via Zoom. While parents are not required to supervise their children, they are encouraged to participate in the challenges and drills set forth by the coaches—creating fun for the whole family. Players are required to have enough space to work on their basketball drills. If you don't have access to a basketball hoop, coaches will implement other drills during shooting time.

Ages 11-14 Every Monday beginning May 25 Price: $15 per session

Develop skills as a soccer player with weekly half-hour virtual soccer camp sessions hosted by Anthony Newman's Sports Camp. Camps will stress the fundamentals of soccer while allowing players to express their creativity and freedom. The camp's focus is on ball handling and footwork skills.

Calling all experienced high school female volleyball players! Participate in a comprehensive University of San Diego volleyball experience while training at home. Each camper will learn training methods, video analysis and review and interact with current USD volleyball players and staff to see the campus and engage from a distance.

Ages 5-9 Date: Various dates in June and July Price: $80

Learn rhythm, coordination and hip hop choreography with this online hip hop class. Kids will dance to upbeat music and burn energy while moving in fun and creative ways. No experience is needed for the Hip Hop I class. Hip Hop II and Hip Hop III are also offered, but students must have instructor approval before registering.

Slide into the basics of baseball via 60-minute Zoom sessions each day during baseball and softball camp. Participants will learn basic techniques, such as throwing, hitting and fielding. Athletes are challenged with weekly goals and receive ongoing instruction by experienced coaches.

If your dancer is looking for instruction from a seasoned pro, this 45-minute session with Seacoast Rep Company dance instructor Andrea Lyons is a wonderful opportunity for some one-on-one guidance. The sessions include a 20-minute warm up, 30 minutes of across the floor combinations and ends with center work combining skills from the class. Options are available for students of different skill levels.

Ages 7-12 Various dates in May Price: $45

No matter your sport of choice, get a leg up by working on your speed and agility in these online training sessions. Students will work on their overall fitness while socializing with other kids over Zoom. All they need to join is a 15 ft by 15 ft unobstructed space inside a house or yard, comfortable athletic shoes or cleats, five cones to dribble around, a tennis ball and a soccer or basketball.

Ages 12-21 Various dates in May and June  Price: $60

Success in sport takes more than physical ability—it requires mental control, too. During this online skills camp, athletes will learn about the essential mental skills that go into winning at a championship level. Sessions include a lecture from Robbie Britt, head baseball coach at the University of Charleston, as well as guest athletes weighing in on how to gain a mental edge during competition.

Run or walk your way to a 20K (12.42 miles), 35K (21.75 miles), 50K (31.06 miles) or 75K (46.60 miles) in the month of August. Participants can download a tracking form to track the miles they log, then submit their form and receive a prize. The event is virtual, so walk or run wherever is most convenient to you—in the local park, around your neighborhood or on your treadmill.
