Blisters

Blisters, which form to protect the body from infection, are small pockets of fluid underneath the skin caused by a source of irritation. Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid of either serum or plasma, but also be made up of lymph, blood or pus. They are typically caused by burning, chemical exposure, forceful rubbing (friction), or freezing.
