Kim L. Dao, DPM, is Board Certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA, in 2013. She completed her externship at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center and her podiatric surgical residency at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans Administration Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She joined Southwest Austin Foot & Ankle Clinic in 2016.

On staff at all of the major hospitals in Austin, including the St. David’s and Seton hospital systems, Dr. Dao is an active surgeon and podiatric hospital consultant. She also provides podiatric care for a variety of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in the greater Austin area.

Dr. Dao believes in exhausting all conservative treatment options before pursuing more invasive, surgical techniques. She works closely with her patients to develop individualized treatment plans that are tailored to their circumstances and needs. She has expertise in diabetic limb salvage and wound care, having studied under Dr. Robert Frykberg, a world-renowned wound care specialist. Dr. Dao treats a wide variety of podiatric conditions in both the office and surgical settings.

A native Texan, Dr. Dao is originally from Dallas and is happy to call Austin home. She is fluent in Vietnamese and enjoys traveling, amateur photography, live music, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks. She is also an active volunteer for GirlStart as a mentor for underprivileged girls, encouraging them to pursue careers in science, tech, engineering, and math. Read less
