Dr. Kathren D. McCarty is our foot and ankle specialist at Sports Occupational & Knee Surgery. She completed 3 years of extensive training as the chief resident of the Orthopedics Dept./Podiatry division at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where she performed over 2000 procedures. Dr. McCarty has been published in several articles, medical journals and textbooks. Dr. McCarty received her Master’s degree in biological sciences and Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. While at Barry University, she was the President of the Florida Podiatric Medical Students Association and elected to serve as the national President of the American Podiatric Medical Students Association.

She is one of few foot and ankle surgeons in the nation who have completed such rigorous training in arthroscopic, minimally invasive, internal fixation as well as external fixation surgical techniques. She is a devoted surgeon and physician who is board certified in Foot Surgery as well as advanced Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery.

As a former All-American collegiate athlete, she understands the urgency for return to activity after injury and will employ all conservative treatments if possible and then surgical means when necessary to restore function and lower extremity health. Read less
