Dr. Khan was raised in Chicago Illinois, and attended Northeastern Illinois University where he played NCAA Division III football. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago. He then attended the University of Osteopathic Medicine Health Sciences in Des Moines Iowa, where he graduated with a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Khan has completed three years of Residency Training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. His training included an emphasis on trauma and reconstructive surgery of the adult and pediatric ankle and foot.

Since Dr. Khan has been in private practice he has performed thousands of foot and ankle procedures on adults as well as pediatric patients. He has lectured on a variety of topics to residents, physicians and the general community. Dr. Khan is the academic director of resident education at Sacred Heart Hospital and Rush Hospital. Dr. Khan was also an adjust professor of anatomy and physiology for the City College of Chicago. He has volunteered and treated NCAA athletes from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest Illinois.
