Dr. Martin graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in microbiology and a minor in chemistry before earning a medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a residency in podiatric surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and has served as President of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association, has served on the Texas State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners and was appointed to the Podiatric Medical Advisory Board to the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. Dr. Martin has served in numerous volunteer positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including missionary in Peru for two years and most recently, Bishop of the College Station First ward. Dr. Martin is married to Julie Anne Gledhill Martin, and they have three children, Tyler, Andrew and Emily Martin. He is proud to have served as Scout leader for four years and had the opportunity to lead varsity scout crews for treks at Philmont Scout Ranch. Dr. Martin also completed RAGBRAI, riding his recumbent bicycle across the state of Iowa in 2014. In his spare time, he enjoys winter sports, including snowboarding. Read less
